Kingspan deal approved by competition watchdogs

Kingspan’s £120m takeover of CRH Insulation Europe (CIE) moved a step closer this morning as the deal was approved by the German, Dutch and Irish competition authorities.

The approval saw Kingspan complete the acquisition yesterday of the European polyisocyanuarate business and the Dutch expanded polystyrene and roofing elements business of CIE.

Completion of the acquisition of the remaining CIE businesses is expected to take place by the end of March pending a rubber-stamping by the Office of Fair Trading.
