Amec secures £140m service deal for British Gas
The three-year contract worth £140m includes Armada, North Everest and Lomond platforms and effectively triples the size of the services supplied to British Gas group.
Several new projects come under the contract, which includes the implementation of subsea tie backs from the Gaupe and North West Seymour wells to the Armada platform hub and a new subsea tie back to the North Everest platform hub.
It also includes a feasibility study for the continued development of the Armada platform as a processing hub.
To increase offshore capacity BG Group has invested in new Additional Living Quarters (ALQs) on the North Everest platform. Installation of this new ALQ will start in January 2011.
John Pearson, Managing Director of AMEC’s Europe and West Africa business said: “I am proud of our proven performance, safety record and drive for continuous improvement, all of which I am sure have helped us secure this award. We look forward to another three years of excellent delivery for BG Group and for the North Sea.”
Alan Johnstone, Operations Director for AMEC added: “Recently, our BG Group contract team celebrated their latest achievement of reaching over four million man-hours without a Lost Time Incident (LTI). This new award is testament to their excellent performance and to the trust BG Group has placed in us to deliver for the future.”
