The site in Manchester Road, Pendle has been closed down until later today by Misa Builders and Contractors who are carrying out work to convert a former hotel and nightclub into a mosque and community centre.
North West Air Ambulance said they took the man, who is in his 30s and suffering from shoulder and neck injuries, to Royal Blackburn Hospital.
UK Islamic Mission (UKIM) is behind the project to convert it to a mosque and community centre.
Spokesman Nisar Ahmed told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph: “The builders have told me the man works for the transport company delivering the heavy machinery.
“The accident happened a little bit away from the main building site.
“I have been told he has been taken to hospital but that his injuries are not life-threatening, so that is good to hear.
“The work has been suspended until probably Wednesday afternoon.”
