The contractor will now work with the council’s design team to find programme savings as part of an ongoing value for money initiative.
Over the contract period will be from 1 April until 31 March 2014, which has options to extend for two years, Carillion will deliver a whole gamut of scheduled and unscheduled highways work, including winter maintenance, drainage, car park and bridge maintenance.
Carillion and its supply chain will be required to comply with the council’s skills development, employment and training programme within the region.
