ISG Jackson is  looking for local Kent trade contractors to help build a £5.4m housing scheme for Ashford Borough Council.

ISG is hosting a Job Creation Fair at the Civic Centre, Tannery Lane on Monday 21st February, between 4:00pm and 7:00pm in Committee Rooms One & Two.

Any local firms looking to get involved in the project have an open invitation to come along.

Trade contractors will then be invited to tender for various elements of the project to build 44 new homes on eleven separate sites across Ashford.

A recruitment advisor from ISG Jackson will be on hand to discuss individual employment opportunities in various roles from site managers and assistant site managers to site secretaries and labourers.

The project is the second phase of a council master plan to redevelop underused areas by building modern, efficient council housing.

The new dwellings take the form of terraced and semi-detached properties, flats and bungalows, and all will achieve a Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4 sustainability rating.

Cllr Neil Bell, Portfolio Holder for Housing at Ashford Borough Council welcomed the move saying: “We are delighted this project will be able not only provide local families with affordable homes but offer local trades people job opportunities too.”

Michael Manning, director of ISG Jackson’s Living division, said: “Sustainable construction isn’t just about delivering high performance buildings that minimise their impact on the environment, but also relates to enriching local communities by providing skills training and employment opportunities.

“As an organisation, ISG Jackson is committed to employing locally-based trade contractors across its projects and we welcome the opportunity to deliver this key note scheme with the help of talented trades’ people from the Ashford business community.”
