The scheme will now run to 31 March 2013 and is worth in the region of £210m.
Warm Front grants allow home owners to install insulation and other heating measures up to the value of £3,500, or £6,000 where oil central heating or alternative low carbon technologies are recommended.
The deal is a boost to Carillion which is in the process of buying Eaga for £306m.
