The job for the UK’s oldest dance company will see ISG erect a six-storey concrete frame structure with single-storey basement level on a narrow infill site behind the Royal National Theatre building.
Facilities will include three double height high-specification dance studios, the largest of which incorporates retractable seating for 50 people and has an adjacent sound studio, a range of treatment rooms, as well as administrative offices.
The Rambert Dance Company archive, dating back to 1926, will be housed in a specially designed facility and also features a community outreach centre.
The company will also store stage scenery and props within the building, accessible via a large rear loading area.
Work is due for completion by the end of 2012.
