The firm has offered to foot the bill for resurfacing the Bagshot Road over two weekends to rectify quality problems during the first surfacing contract earlier this month.
The breakup of the asphalt after a few weeks has been blamed on excessive dust on the stone chippings used for the road surfacing, made worse by bad weather immediately after laying the road.
Because of the increased depth of surfacing Ringway will also need to raise the level of the road-side gulleys.
Vincent Paliczka, director of environment, culture and communities at the council, said: “An error of this type brings significant disruption to residents and commuters and we apologise for this.
“Understanding the cause of this failure was very important since it is a road surfacing technique we regularly specify to our contractors and they have successfully laid over 53km without problems in recent years
“Our contractor, Ringway Infrastructure Services, has assumed full responsibility and is putting in place measures to rectify the situation at considerable cost to itself and, of course, no cost to the council tax payer.
“In order to minimise further disruption, these works will take place over successive weekends in July so that traffic can flow freely on Monday mornings.
“There is already a meeting scheduled with the national operations director of Ringway infrastructure Services to discuss how this problem arose and what further steps need to be taken to prevent any repetition.”
