The project in Streatham is being developed by Tesco subsidiary Spenhill Regeneration and will comprise around 250 apartments with an ice rink, swimming pool, sports hall and fitness suite.
In addition, a new 63,000 sq ft Tesco Extra supermarket will be built with extensive underground parking.
The development will also include new bus interchange facilities for Transport for London and areas of public realm surrounding the grade two listed Streatham United Reform Church.
Geoff Cheek, construction director for building division south at VINCI Construction UK said: “We are really looking forward to working on this long-awaited new development in Lambeth which truly demonstrates a comprehensive and holistic approach to regeneration and mixed-use development.”
