The approval comes after an assessment by the Homes and Communities Agency of all housing PFI projects across the country following the Comprehensive Spending Review in November 2010.
The council will issue the OJEU Notice during the third week in September 2011 and complete the procurement process within two years.
A bidders’ conference will also be held for interested firms following the issue of the OJEU Notice.
The sites allocated for the 390 new homes are:
- Holdcroft Fields, Holdcroft Road, Abbey Hulton,
- Former Brookwood Home and Blurton Farm Depot, Consett Road, Blurton.
- Former Westcliffe Hospital, Turnhurst Road, Chell.
