Client milk company Arla expects as many as 1,000 construction jobs will be created during the building programme.
Laing O’Rouke is shortly to be named preferred contractor for the huge plant which will become the world’s first billion litre liquid milk dairy when it starts operation.
The plant, which will be built on a 70-acre site at Aston Clinton, should be one of the most environmentally advanced in the world.
The aim is a zero carbon facility with zero waste to landfill.
Tim Evans from Arla Foods is leading the client team as senior director of UK projects and engineering.
Arla hopes to receive full planning in September to allow a prompt construction start.
