Conwy County Borough Council has said it will soon start the tendering process, which will use the framework agreement.
As part of the sweeping education cuts to the Welsh 21st Century school building programme funding was defefered for a year.
But the local council has sufficient funds to start the projects as planned. Building work is now scheduled to start next July on the two-year contract.
The works include the demolition of the existing school, construction of a new school, a detached technology unit. The builder will also refurbish an existing pupil residential unit for the school and associated landscaping and external works.
The new school building will accommodate pupils in the 4 to 19 age range and will include the full range of educational facilities including a sports hall and a hydrotherapy pool.
