Work on both sites will start next month and they are scheduled to be completed by August 2012.
The 500,000sq ft distribution warehouse in Rochdale will be built on the Kingsway Business Park, which is being jointly developed by Asda and Wilson Bowden.
A waste recycling centre and offices will also be built at the site.
Ant Everett, Head of Network Development for ASDA Distribution, said: “Since the successful acquisition by ASDA of the Netto business in 2010, the company has identified a shortfall in warehouse capacity covering the North West and Yorkshire.
“We have designed a purpose-built Chilled Distribution Centre to service our growing number of stores.
“This will be a flagship development, which includes a state-of-the-art recycling centre, and will be one of the most environmentally sustainable developments of its kind in the UK.”
The Grangemouth centre will be a similar size.
ASDA operates around 24 distribution centres servicing its stores across the UK.
One rival contractor told the Enquirer: “McLaren has a pretty close relationship with Asda so it’s no surprise to see them pick-up these contracts.”
