The Enquirer understands the police have told sparks that if the London action continues they will issue Section 14 Notices under the Public Order Act – which would effectively make any gathering illegal and allow them to make arrests.
The move comes as protesters plan to continue cranking-up their action against the the eight leading M&E contractors planning to quit the industry’s JIB pay and conditions agreement.
Last week the rank-and-file demonstrators infiltrated a site near Blackfriars station to hang banners from the scaffold.
They also claimed to have stopped workers and deliveries crossing picket lines in Manchester.
The flash point will be a “Construction Day of Action” on 7 November centred on the Pinnacle site in the City of London where organisers are expecting “thousands” of protesters.
