Ardmore is believed to be preferred bidder on the job for Catalyst Housing Group after original contractor Mansell walked away “due to commercial reasons”.
Galliford Try, John Sisk, Leadbitter, Mace and Wilmott Dixon were also chasing the first phase and main construction work is set to restart in January.
Ardmore is expected to be officially confirmed as winner this week to build 324 new homes on a site which will eventually include 1,000 new units worth £250m.
Foundation work on the site is currently being carried out by Galldris Construction.
