The contractor has won the job to rebuild Notre Dame Catholic College on a site adjacent to Everton Park Lifestyles Centre.
Willmott Dixon is holding an open day tomorrow, Tuesday December 6, at the current Notre Dame site to meet firms interested in becoming part of the project’s supply chain.
The Notre Dame project is part of a £100m school construction programme in the City using a design concept called EdVenture which uses structure similar to those used on modern airport terminal buildings.
Councillor Jane Corbett, Liverpool City Council cabinet member for education, said: “We are very clear that we want to make sure that local firms and local businesses benefit from our secondary schools investment plan helping create jobs for local people.”
Willmott Dixon Northern Local Construction Office Managing Director Anthony Dillon said: “In addition to the educational and community benefits these schools will bring to the area, we are committed to ensuring that we maximise the opportunities for local businesses and labour in partnership with Liverpool City Council.”
A planning application for Notre Dame is due to be considered shortly and, if approved, work could start next summer and be completed in 2013.
