Betting Spy: Arsenal are a huge price to beat Man City

Arsene Wenger doesn’t strike me as a big gambler.

He doesn’t look the sort to be shuffling around the local bookies or rolling out of a casino in the early hours potless.

But even the Arsenal boss must surely be tempted to risk a few quid when his team can be backed at 9/2 this weekend.

That’s a massive price on a team as good as the Gunners and, quite frankly, a bit of an insult to Wenger’s men.

Of course the reason Arsenal are that price is because they face Man City in their own backyard.

City have made a storming start to the season but the first cracks started to appear during Monday’s defeat at Chelsea.

The billionaire boys were getting a bit niggly when the game started going against them and it could be time to take them on.

Arsenal meanwhile have recovered from their early season wobbles and have won their last three away games in the league – including sticking five past Chelsea.

That’s not the form of a 9/2 shot so let’s take a chance that the Gunners have another of their hot away days and land us a decent gamble.

Extra cash is always welcome this time of year and I’ll be placing a fair chunk of the Enquirer Christmas Party fund on Arsenal.

Let’s hope they deliver or it could be more Pomagne than Champagne to celebrate the end of the year.
