Tant, who will be based in London office, joins Shepherd after a 29-year career at Willmott Dixon, the last eight years were spent in the role of managing director for south London and the southern home counties.
He played a key role in helping Willmott Dixon win £100m of work through the Improvement and Efficiency South East Framework, retaining their place on the framework when it was renewed in the summer.
Tant is also credited with securing the builder a place on the Gatwick Airport Major Projects Framework, following success under the BAA Framework.
He said: “I am delighted to join Shepherd Construction at an exciting time for the company which is increasingly being regarded as a national player in the market and is forging ahead with expansion across London and the South East.”
Shepherd Construction opened its London office at the start of 2011 and relocated its team from Slough to London to be nearer to clients, business partners and consultants.
Projects currently being handled by the south division include The Atrium, a £27m project delivering luxury apartments on Park Road near Regents Park, a £58m school at Holland Park, and a £110m project to deliver new facilities for the Institute of Animal Health at Pirbright in Surrey.
