Askin has a wealth of industry experience having trained at John Laing before stints at Wates, Rok and Forrest.
He joined Mansfield based Baggaley last January as commercial director and has now taken over as MD from Ian Baggaley who, after six years in the post, succeeds his father as chairman of Baggaley Group.
Askin said: “Baggaley Construction is the epitome of a well-run, family-owned regional contractor as it consistently delivers quality and value for its clients.
“I believe there’s a great opportunity to capitalise on the company’s strong reputation in both the private and public sectors and I am excited to be in a position to help deliver the next part of its growth plans.”
Baggaley Construction employs more than 130 people and has an annual turnover of £50m.
