Over the coming weeks, the contractor will contact firms to explain how to use the service and reduce their pre-qualification assessment burden.
The Builder’s Profile offers an audited way to set out basic business information needed for bidding jobs. It has been designed to plug into a host of specialised prequalification systems used by the industry.
Kier’s southern division and Osborne are already signed up to the Builder’s Profile.
The adoption by Morgan Sindall is a huge coup for the Builder’s Conference and specialist contractor umbrella trade body NSCC, which promote it as a cost-saving way to vet companies nationwide.
Martin Pitt, commercial director at Morgan Sindall, said: “In today’s challenging market conditions, main contractors and their supply chains are constantly seeking ways to work more efficiently.
“By adopting the Builder’s Profile, Morgan Sindall is providing our supply chain with the opportunity to have a single pre-qualification assessment profile that can also be made available to other main contractors.
“We are delighted to be partnering with the Builder’s Profile and to be at the forefront of this initiative which we believe will lead to more sustainable practices throughout the industry.”
Paul Long, operations director at the Builder’s Profile, said: “Morgan Sindall is ensuring that the benefits will be felt by all the companies it works with and is also thinking beyond their own supply chain requirements as the service has benefits for the whole industry.”
A subcontractor can create a basic Builder’s Profile free of charge, setting out its core business information, to be sent to one main contractor.
If the firm registers for the premium version of the service their company details can be sent to as many main contractors as they wish, reducing the amount of time and money spent on completing bespoke pre-qualification questionnaires.
