The building programme is needed to support the rapid expansion of renewable energy projects in the north of Scotland.
Scottish Hydro Electric Transmission Limited (SHETL) aims to select three contractors to handle its huge upgrade programme.
The prequalification process is due to close at the end of this month to meet a timetable of awarding contracts for the three lots by the end of June.
Work includes the design, supply, installation, construction and commissioning of various transmission voltage substations within SHETL’s licensed transmission area.
The packages are:
Lot1: To build one 400KV GIS substation and three 400KV AIS substations
Lot2: To build three 275KV AIS substations.
Lot3: Three 275KV AIS substations, two GIS and one AIS substations
