Changes are currently being made to the levy system which means bills will be sent out later than normal to contractors.
Levy assessments are usually sent to firms this month but will now be delayed until April with levy returns due late April or early May.
Mark Farrar, Chief Executive CITB-ConstructionSkills said: “In the last eighteen months, we’ve listened and responded to calls from industry to review the levy system and we’ve been working with federations that represent large and small employers to put together a series of recommendations for the 2012 Levy Order.
“We have put forward a number of industry endorsed changes to the Levy Order for government’s approval which has led to slight delays in the levy process this year.
“This means that we will send out the 2011 Levy Assessment in April and 2012 Levy Returns will be issued a short time after this.
“We’re committed to delivering value to employers through the levy and believe that these changes will support our industry as we move from recession into growth.”
