The contractors are currently advertising the vacancies and applications must be in by March 26.
The 40 jobs, follow a further 70 jobs which were previously advertised for the construction of the NET Phase Two project taking the total to 110 jobs created so far since the project received the go-ahead by Government in December 2011.
The project involves building two new tram lines to extend Nottingham’s tram network to Clifton via Wilford and Chilwell via Beeston.
The new vacancies offer a range of labouring opportunities including digging trial holes, which will be used to help investigate the exact locations of the various utility services which need to be moved out of the way of the new tramlines, to drivers of mini diggers and construction lorries.
All the jobs can be found at the Nottingham City Council Employer Hub here or email: hub@nottinghamcity.gov.uk mentioning reference Construction Enquirer for an application form
Martin Carroll, Taylor Woodrow Alstom’s Project Director, said: “Working alongside the Employer Hub has been extremely helpful. It is an excellent facility and ensures vacancies which arise can be widely promoted to job seekers.
“We are keen to recruit local people as we complete what is a complex construction phase and, as the project gathers pace, further job opportunities will be created not only within our organisation but also within local companies which become part of our supply chain.”
