Its estate procurement body, the Defence Infrastructure Organisation, is procuring three regional prime FM contracts across the south west, south east and central areas.
And it wants to give specialists the opportunity to partner up with potential prime contractors before the bidding starts this autumn.
Steve Rice, the Next Generation Estate Contracts programme director, said that those attending would be at the top of the list for a prime contractors’ consideration when choosing supply chain partners.
“The challenge for industry will require excellent supply chain companies, supported by an excellent prime contractor.
“We are determined to put in place the best possible prime contractors, supported by strong, healthy supply chains and subcontractors.”
He added that specialist subcontractors could count on timely and complete payment as well as stable workloads.
The MoD is on the look out for firms handling building work, grounds maintenance, mechanical and electrical and civil engineering, catering and cleaning.
To attend the industry day for one or more of the prime contract regions, firms must read the advertisement in the Official Journal of the European Union, and register an expression of interest before 29 March 2012.
