The deal comes too late for half the 57 staff who worked across the firm’s two operations in Huyton and Ossett, West Yorkshire.
The company covered all aspects of building and maintenance work, largely within the insurance industry, throughout the North of England.
Joint administrator Kerry Bailey, a partner in PKF’s Corporate Recovery team in Manchester, said: “Despite efforts made by Assured Building & Roofing over the last few weeks to turn the business around and secure a refinancing package, the board of directors took the decision to appoint administrators on 23 March.”
“Since our appointment, we have negotiated the sale of the Huyton business, which has resulted in the continued employment of a number of the depot’s employees. The business will continue to trade and provide services to its customer base from Huyton.”
“Regrettably, we have had to make the difficult decision of closing the Ossett operation, leading to a number of job losses at the depot.”
All 21 staff have been made redundant at the Ossett site, which has now closed. A further eight of the 36 staff at the Huyton operation have also been axed.
