Betting Spy: Rose to master Augusta at 28/1

Sometimes everything in the punting garden comes up roses as winners fly in on a regular basis.

Betting Spy is enjoying such a moment with another decent result last week as Newcastle saw-off Liverpool.

So let’s play up our cash at the US Masters golf this weekend by backing a man who draws-together our rather laboured image of skipping through the blooms waving betting slips.

Justin Rose is his name. And he is a great looking price at 28/1 to perform at Augusta.

The Masters is a fantastic tournament to watch and I fancy Rose to slip under the radar as the commentators drool over Woods and the azaleas.

I’ll stop the nature nonsense now and highlight another reason why Rose is a great bet.

Paddy Power are paying a quarter of the odds each way for the first six places and are refunding all win bets if Tiger Woods claims another Green Jacket.

That means we can cheer on Rose with a bit of money-back insurance if Tiger roars back into major form again.

It’s a real golf-fest from Thursday to Sunday so get on your best pastel polo shirt and diamond jumper and sit back and enjoy one of the calendar’s great events.

It’s a busy football weekend as well with the fixtures coming thick and fast.

Let’s go to the well one more time and oppose Liverpool who are having a dreadful time.

I thought it would be impossible for Kenny Dalglish to look even more miserable, but his after-defeat interviews are becoming a master class in misery.

And still the bookies price them up as a top-four side.

This Saturday Anfield welcomes Aston Villa who are no great shakes – but certainly not 15/2 shots at a ground where Wigan left with all three points a fortnight ago.

I can’t see life getting any better for Dalglish so let’s have a bit of the 15/2 on Villa.
