The move by the management team has saved 30 jobs at Inverness-based Wyvis Roofing.
Willie Sharp, managing director of Wyvis Roofing said: “We are of course delighted that Wyvis Roofing can continue with business as usual and the entire team are now all 100% focussed on taking the business forward as a standalone entity.”
Almost 240 staff were laid off at offices in Inverness, Glasgow, Dundee, Bathgate, Stornoway and South Uist when administrators Zolfo Cooper took over the running of UBC Group earlier this month.
Elizabeth Mackay, joint administrator for Zolfo Cooper in Scotland said: “We would like to express our gratitude for the assistance provided by Enterprise Minister Fergus Ewing, Councillor Drew Hendry Leader of Highland Council and Councillor Jimmy Gray Convener, Highland Council whose support and determination was instrumental in allowing the business to continue as a going concern.
“This case has been an excellent example of local and national government working alongside both the management team and that of the administrators to achieve a positive outcome.”
