£800m rail upgrade job goes out to tender

Network Rail is looking for contractors to oversee electrification and upgrade work worth up to £800m.

The mega-contract will see electrification work carried-out along the East Coast Main Line and Transpennine Route.

The job is due to get underway in June 2013 and be completed by March 2020.
