The company confirmed to the Enquirer that receivers were appointed on Monday and the firm has now ceased trading leaving 150 directly employed staff out of work.
Cross has been in business since 1988 and operated across the entire North West.
The company is believed to have been turning over around £13m a year at the time of its collapse.
