The firm is due to finish the £44m first phase of the £600m campus redevelopment, which will see 710 en-suite rooms at Myrtle Street completed in September.
The University has just submitted plans for the next phase, which will see 1,200 new en-suite student bedrooms built on Brownlow Hill and Crown Street.
It also announced that Ocon was the preferred contractor for this next round of building work.
Steve Dickson, director of facilities management at Liverpool University, said: “It’s important that we make this investment to meet demand in the future. The student population is extremely important to the city – students contribute around £300m to Liverpool’s economy every year.
“The university remains heavily over-subscribed but it’s important that all aspects of our student experience, including our accommodation, remain world-class. ”
The University will also invest in its off-campus accommodation, developing new residences at its Greenbank site at Mossley Hill to provide a self-contained student village including catering and sports facilities.
The teaching environment for science-based subjects is also being transformed with an investment of £25m centralised teaching laboratories.
The university is also planning to invest £32m in teaching facilities in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, £7.5m in an extension to the Management School and £9m in a refurbishment of its Guild of Students.
Other new developments include new student social space and a £4m investment in sports facilities.
