An online learning tool to help boost sustainability among subcontractors has been launched by major contractors.

The Supply Chain Sustainability School was founded by Skanska and is also being supported by Kier, Lend Lease, Morgan Sindall, Sir Robert McAlpine, Willmott Dixon and Aggregate Industries.

The project has been backed by funding from CITB-ConstructionSkills and will allow a common approach by major contractors to sustainability within their supply chains.

The school is a virtual learning environment that will use online tools to help subcontractors improve sustainability.

Free online assessments and advice will allow organisations to assess their current sustainability strengths, as well as identify any areas in need of development.

The School will also provide a prioritised action plan as well as a range of free tools, e-learning and sustainability training.

Access to the School is free and participation is voluntary and not linked to prequalification.
