The firm will demolish station buildings and weight restricted bridges as well as constructing one replacement bridge as part of the £3m contract.

The site will then be cleared to  make way for a new £10m booking hall and hotel above.

The existing station will be demolished and replaced with a five-storey crescent shaped building
