HS2 said the framework was dependent on the Government supporting the initial proposed Phase Two route, which is expected this Autumn.
The engineering and environmental professional teams would support the consultation process for the extension through to Winter 2014.
Selected firms will also support any feasibility work associated with work on the longer term options for serving Scotland and the North East.

Lot 1: Engineering services £3m-£10m
Lot 2: Environmental Services £12m – £30m
Expressions of interest need to be submitted by Friday 13 July.
