The Enquirer understands Anderson has secured a £15m deal to build the concrete frame and carry-out piling and ground works for the latest phase of the Goodman’s Fields development.
A 40-strong team from Anderson will be on-site for 67 weeks overseeing construction of a 22-storey tower on the site which will eventually contain four residential towers, alongside a 251-room hotel, nearly 9,000 square metres of leisure and commercial space and a 17,778 square metre basement car park
The site is the former home of an RBS cheque centre which was demolished under a £2m contract by the Lee Group.
Mitchellson won the first major concrete package late last year on a £3.6m job to build the substructure podium for two of the towers.
The scheme has sparked intense competition for work from the industry’s largest concrete frame companies.
One industry expert: “This is a major source of work for a client which is expanding rapidly so it’s a great job to be part of.”
