A source told the Enquirer that SIG has completed a deal to save the East Anglian roofing company’s materials arm, saving around half the 25 staff jobs.
Essex Roofing was established in 1977 and grew to become a major supplier of pitched roofing products and a specialist contractor across the region.
But the business ran into problems and earlier this month and was placed in administration with insolvency specialists Wilkins Kennedy.
The Colchester base of the roofing contractor is understood to have been closed, although an unnamed buyer has bought some of the assets of the business.
