The Enquirer understands the firm beat Kier and ISG to take the big factory job, which is understood to be worth around £35m and will be a big boost to the builder’s order book.
It is one of three factory building jobs planned by Rolls Royce to expand manufacturing capacity in the UK.
One plant in Rotherham has gone to Bam Construct, which was bidding for work with Rolls for the first time.
The new factory building in Washington, near Sunderland will make more than 2,000 fan and turbine discs a year for the aerospace industry.
Production at the new plant is expected to begin in late 2013.
