The Sale-based firm worked for several house builders and on commercial projects in a region spanning Cheshire and Lancashire, turning over around £3m a year.
It worked for several main contractors including GB Building Solutions, Cruden, Interserve, Vinci and Willmott Dixon.
Keith Tulley, managing director of administrator Dylan Quail, said: “There were only a small number of staff but hundreds of subcontract workers were affected by the decision to cease trading.”
GW North West’s cashflow problems were brought to a head when one of its key suppliers issued a winding up petition, causing its main secured creditor and directors to call in administrators.
