It is on the hunt for up to 16 firms to join its plain line track laying framework, worth an estimated £650m. The scope of the new framework covers the UK but delivery will be focused on regions allowing bidders to chase for one or more areas.
The new work programme will exclude track works delivered by Network Rail-owned high output plant.
Network Rail has issued a separate contract notice for the delivery of £600m worth of switch and crossing works, which will be shared between four contractors.
Firms have until 26 November to submit an interest in bidding.
