Ian Renhard, head of UK construction, joins the board and, for the time being, will report to PFI board director Dougie Sutherland.
The growing international business, led by George Franks, will report to chief executive Adrian Ringrose as Franks also is promoted to the main board.
Renhard has led Interserve’s move back into mainstream contracting, which has seen it return successfully to bidding road projects and mid-range building jobs.
Long-serving board member and non-executive director David Trapnell will also retire from the board after the AGM in May.
Trapnell will be replaced as senior independent director by Les Cullen, who will in turn be succeeded as chair of the audit committee by Anne Fahy.
