The new centre is one of three planned for the UK that will offer specialist training for health professionals and gym facilities for rehabilitation of athletes, sportspeople and disabled patients with chronic disease.
The £11.5m, three-storey Health and Bioscience building contract is scheduled for completion in summer 2014 and will be constructed with a steel frame and masonry cladding. The project is designed to achieve a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating.
