Introducing duel generators saved up to 60,000 litres of fuel on some projects.
BAM has also improved energy efficiency by more remote metering, better management and control systems and more efficient temporary accommodation for construction sites.
At the Network Rail HQ project in Milton Keynes, BAM saved around £50,000 in energy through better management and control.
Improved accommodation has reduced electricity consumption by between 30-50% through significant increases in insulation levels and better controls.
