Insolvency experts at international accountancy firm Mazars’s Birmingham office have been appointed as administrators at J & H Construction Ltd, based in Hinkley.
J & H Construction was established in 2001 by managing director Mark Campion and specialised in offering a complete groundworks package for developers.
The business had worked on projects including the Marks & Spencer Distribution Centre in Bradford, Thame Football Club in Oxfordshire and new commercial units in Peterborough.
Mazars partner Simon Chandler said: “We are in the early stages of assessing the trading position but it appears the business owes just under £1m to creditors.
“The business has been another victim of the downturn in the construction sector and was unable to continue trading.”
He said that up to 50 full and part time staff had already been made redundant when the firm opted to cease trading in March prior to Mazars appointment.
