Potential suppliers are invited to an event hosted by Constructionline on Tuesday 23 April 2013 in Hemel Hempstead.
Kier is looking for subcontractors, suppliers and trades people based within 20 miles of Hemel Hempstead to work with them on a social housing project in the local area.
The initial work will cover aids and adaptations, asbestos removal, bricklaying, electrical, gas maintenance, joinery, lift maintenance, lightening protection, mechanical installations, multi-skilled trades, painting, plastering, plumbing, roofing, scaffolding, smoke and fire detection, stair lifts, and water treatments.
Claire Makin, business development manager from Constructionline, said: “In our experience, it can be hard for suppliers to get opportunities to work with buyers, especially on projects of this size within their local community.
“For this reason, it is great to see Kier sourcing local subcontractors to help deliver this project.”
Kier’s regional managing director, Simon Bullen said; “Kier is a leading provider of maintenance across the country and we will work together with local suppliers and subcontractors to put efficiency, service improvements and customer excellence as our top priorities.
“Boosting local economies is a key part of our approach and we’re delighted that this project is creating opportunities for local individuals and businesses.”
