The design and build deals for NHS Grampian and NHS Highland are in Woodside, Forres and Tain.
They have been brought together under a single project agreement for both health boards and mark the first collaboratively procured design, build, fund and maintain project to be delivered through hub North Scotland for the NHS.
Forres Health and Care Centre and Woodside Fountain Health Centre, Aberdeen will be delivered for NHS Grampian and Tain Health Centre for NHS Highland.
Angus Macfarlane, Chief Executive, hub North Scotland Ltd, said: “We are delighted to have secured financial close on three projects in Woodside, Forres and Tain.
“This is a significant milestone for hub North Scotland as it marks the first collaborative design, build, fund and maintain project for the NHS, maximising the delivery of value for money and increasing efficiencies through joint procurement.
“Bringing together the requirements of each project and delivering them for two health boards under one contract, demonstrates the capabilities of the hub process.”
As a Tier 1 contractor with hub North Scotland Limited, Miller Construction has been appointed as main contractor to deliver all three projects.
Construction is expected to start in the coming weeks and completion of the facilities is scheduled for April 2014.
Charlie Dunn, Regional Managing Director – Scotland, Miller Construction, said: “We have already built a successful partnership with NHS Grampian whilst delivering the Aberdeen Community Health and Care Village and are looking forward to working with them and NHS Highland on these three projects.”
Jackie Bremner, Project Director for NHS Grampian and NHS Highland, said: “This is an exciting day for everyone involved with these much needed new Health Centres in Woodside, Forres and Tain.
