The deal to create a retirement village at Bishopstoke Park in Hampshire takes the amount of specialist housing work secured by the builder this year to nearly £200m.
Retirement specialist Anchor signed the deal which involves building 170 homes and a 48-unit care home in the grounds in Bishopstoke Park which was transformed into a small hospital in the 20th Century.
Willmott Dixon will now transform it into a modern retirement village boasting a Wellness Centre, swimming pool, hair and beauty salon, village bistro and delicatessen.
The plans are similar to Denham Garden Village in Bucks, a retirement village that Willmott Dixon built for Anchor in three phases several years ago.
Willmott Dixon also recently won a £40m contract to build 28 apartments, nine cottages and a 93-bed care village in Ascot for Rise Lodge Developments and is also building residential accommodation for Housing 21 in Warwickshire and Chevin Housing Association in Derbyshire.
Chief operating officer for Willmott Dixon’s housing business, Charlie Scherer, said: “We’re delighted Anchor has chosen to work with us and build on our excellent relationship following Denham Garden Village. We look forward to applying the expertise and know-how from this and many other similar projects to deliver Bishopstoke Park.”
