The revamped tables now put firms into five broad performance bands, but sidestep which companies are outperfoming others within the banding.
Under the new alphabetical groupings more information is provided about value and number of jobs assessed, so that a clearer picture is given of performance relative to the amount of work done.
Under the old system contractors carrying out large work programmes have tendeded to do less well because there was simply more scope for performance problems.
In the latest league, covering three months to April, Bridgeway Consulting, Colas Rail and Story Rail all achieved an average delivery score putting them into the top A-band.
Signalling Solutions and a joint venture between Colas Rail and Morgan Sindall ranked lowest this time round as the only two companies in band D.
All firms managed to escape the shame of the lowest band E, reserved for those with an average delivery score of under three in the zero to five scale.
