The Government has given the go-ahead for 102 new free schools that are set to open in England after 2014.

More than half are located in London and the South East, many based in deprived areas or where there is a shortage of school places.

The locations of many of the new schools and investment in conversion of existing buildings is still to be determined.

This next batch will join the 81 current free schools and 109 which are due to open from September.

In total, the free schools will cover 130,000 school places.
