The firm has secured the national plant hire contract for three years with an option to extend up to a further year.
A-Plant will provide a full range of equipment and services, covering excavators, pumps, telehandlers, rollers, accommodation and generators of various sizes.
The equipment will be required on short, medium and long term hire with some equipment needing to be available on a 24/7 hire basis.
Over the last 12 months A-Plant has invested heavily in new equipment including a recent £27m order for 800 machines with JCB.
Dale Eynon, Environment Agency’s Head of Fleet Operations added, “The provision of hired in plant to supplement our own internal fleet holding is an important part of our on-going commitment to ensure we provide our operational teams with the safest, most cost effective, high quality and sustainable fleet.
“Our new partnership with A-plant embraces our approach and will lead to more efficient and effective service provision for our field teams”.
