The new QEII healthcare facility will provide a local A&E, outpatient, diagnostic and therapy services.

The healthcare contract adds to Mansell’s growing work record under the LIFT initiative with Assemble Community Partnership after delivering the Bedford Enhanced Services Centre.

Built to the BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating, sustainable design features include solar panels, a green roof, air source heat pumps and the use of natural ventilation to reduce energy consumption.

To ensure existing healthcare services remain unaffected by construction works, the new facility is being constructed adjacent to the existing operational QEII Hospital.

Once complete, healthcare services will be transferred to the new QEII hospital. The remainder of the site will be disposed of by East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust.
