Wates, Keepmoat and Esh Construction will share out the council house improvement programme under the new framework, which will also be used by East Durham Homes, Dale and Valley Homes and City of Durham Homes.
The council estimates the total spend will range from £75m to £160m over the course of the housing upgrade programme.
Works will vary from whole house modernisation to specific upgrades covering internal and external works on low rise council homes.
It also includes loft and cavity wall insulation as well as fitting insulation cladding to homes.
